The Tobermory whisky distillery is located in the town of Tobermory on the Isle
of Mull in Scotland. The company was founded in 1798, making it one of the
oldest active distilleries in the whole of Scotland. The distillery bottles its
smoky whiskies under the "Ledaig" label, while the unpeated bottlings are
marketed under the "Tobermory" brand.
To celebrate Tobermory Distillery's partnership with Gordon Buchanan and the
Mull and Iona Community Trust, Triple Wood is presented as a marriage of three
casks: Bourbon, port and wine. This combination is symbolic of all partners
working together to preserve and protect the unique island home. The common goal
is to preserve and promote the natural landscapes of Mull.
For every bottle of Ledaig Triple Wood produced, £2 goes to the Mull and Iona
Community Trust to support the restoration of Ardura Forest. This forest is home
to diverse wildlife and provides an important social gathering place for
islanders. The charity's long-term vision includes the regeneration, protection
and enhancement of Ardura's biodiversity to create a beautiful, healthy and
accessible place for future generations and visitors.
