The wines of Luce della Vite, from the picturesque region of Montalcino in
Tuscany, owe their creation to a visionary idea conceived by Vittorio
Frescobaldi and Robert Mondavi. With the aim of creating wines that capture the
light, sun, warmth and energy of this unique landscape, they take advantage of
the optimal conditions offered by Montalcino with its sun-drenched hilly
landscapes.
The cuvee of 75% Merlot and 25% Sangiovese matures for 12 months in barriques,
including 55% in new French oak barrels, 5% in new American oak barrels and 40%
in second-use French oak barrels, which gives the wines their characteristic
depth and complexity.
The dedicated local winegrowers work with great passion to make these wines
something special. The symbol of the radiant sun that adorns the labels reflects
not only the natural environment, but also the rich history and deep connection
of the people of Montalcino to viticulture.
