Moet & Chandon was founded by Claude Moet in France in 1743.In 1794, Jean-Remy
Moet bought the former Hautvillers monastery, where the monk Dom Perignon had
refined the production techniques for champagne, and Moet was soon exported to
countless countries.
As Napoleon Bonaparte was a good friend of Jean-Remy Moet, he always had a
supply of Moet champagne with him on his later military campaigns.
Since its foundation, the company has been based in Epernay, France, and is the
market leader for champagne.
In 1987, Moet Hennessy merged with Louis Vuitton to form the luxury goods group
LVMH.
The Moet Rose Imperial impresses with its intensity and softness. It consists
mainly of Pinot Noir and the addition of red berries makes it the embodiment of
the Maison's style.
In the words of the Marquise de Pompadour: "Champagne is the only wine in the
world that makes every woman beautiful".
