In the late 1990s, a group of friends wanted to create the first whiskey
distillery in Wales for over a century. The dream was to create a whisky as pure
and precious as Welsh gold.Thus, Penderyn Whisky was launched in 2004 on St.
David's Day. Dr. David Faraday designed a unique copper still with a still that
the friends owned.

The distillery is located in the village of the same name on the southern tip of
the Brecan Beacons mountain range. The fresh, natural spring water available
there is a component of the great whiskies.



The Faraday Whisky from Penderyn was created especially for Travel Retail.

The name is derived from the unique Faraday still, the still, which was designed
by Dr. David Faraday.



The maturation of this single malt begins in ex-bourbon casks, followed by a
finish in ex-Ruby port casks.
