It all began when Alois Goelles, father of David Goelles, in collaboration with
Josef Zotter, designed the chocolate spirit. From that day on, the family began
to produce rum. The son, David Goelles, then founded the company Ruotker's in
Riegersburg, in Styria.Ruotker's today offers high quality whiskies, rums and
gin.
The special thing about "Ron Johan Rum Dark" is that it is distilled in Styria.
The distiller, on the other hand, gets the molasses from Brazil, Paraguay or
even the Dominican Republic.
The bottle features Pirate Black Beard and the Austrian Archduke Johann, to whom
this rum is dedicated.
The Ron Johan Dark Rum matures in new as well as used American white oak and
ex-bourbon barrels and is free of any colorants and flavorings.
