Stauning Rye represents the artisanal perfection and regional connection of the
distillery in Skjern on the Danish west coast, where every step of production,
from malting to bottling, is carried out on site. For this exceptional whisky,
both rye and barley are malted on the distillery's own malting floors, a process
that ensures its characteristic depth and authenticity.

After distillation in traditional, direct-fired stills, the whisky is matured
for at least three years in toasted American white oak casks, developing a
harmonious base of sweet and spicy flavors. This special edition also received a
final finish in Oloroso and Moscatel sherry casks, which gives it an additional
layer of fruity and nutty notes.



It is rare for a whisky to double as a creative art project, but that is exactly
what a special edition of Stauning Danish Whisky offers. Due to global supply
difficulties, the distillery was temporarily without its characteristically
designed bottles. However, this situation gave rise to an original idea: the
opportunity to customize the bottle before opening.
