This Hakushu is a Japanese single malt whisky from Suntory. The name Hakushu
means "White Sandbank" and refers to the rich mineral deposit in the river on
the island of Honshu, which leads to the Suntory distillery and ensures the
purity of this whisky.This whisky is a blend made from whiskies aged less than
10 years in bourbon casks, old whiskies aged for at least 18 years in American
white oak casks and young, very heavily peated whiskies aged for about 12 years
in bourbon casks. Shinji Fukuyo, fourth Master Distiller, selected the casks
himself. This Hakushu is the first one without age indication.
