The Tignanello winery, located in Tuscany, has around 130 hectares of vineyards,
which are divided into the Tignanello and Solaia areas. The nature of the soil,
a calcareous and schistose marl, together with the significant temperature
fluctuations between day and night, contribute significantly to the uniqueness
of the wines. The modern vinification and maturation cellars allow the specific
characteristics of each wine to be emphasized through targeted care and
preparation. In addition to the vineyards, the estate has plots of Malvasia and
Trebbiano grapes and 37 hectares of olive groves.
The wines are made exclusively from grapes grown on the Tenuta Tignanello estate
in the Mercatale Val di Pesa zone within the Chianti Classico area. The grape
variety composition consists of 90% Sangiovese and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. The
wines are matured for 14 to 16 months in a mixture of old and new barriques,
sealed with a natural cork stopper.
