The Balvenie Distillery, which has been producing high-quality whisky since
1892, still preserves many traditional methods in its production process. For
example, the barley is still grown on site and the distillery uses a traditional
malting floor - a rarity in the modern whisky industry. In addition, Balvenie
employs its own team of coopers who are responsible for maintaining and
repairing the casks to ensure optimum quality throughout the maturation process.

The Balvenie 14 Year Old American Bourbon Cask is one of two bottlings in the
new series "A Curious Cask Collection", which is the result of a close
collaboration between Malt Master Kelsey McKechnie and Samples Coordinator
George Paterson. This series follows on from the successful "Revelation of Cask
and Character" and sets new standards in the world of whisky. During production,
unpeated malt was milled, mashed, fermented and distilled, with the raw spirit
absorbing gentle smoky notes, as distillation for the "Week of Peat" series had
taken place shortly beforehand.



The subsequent 14-year maturation in ex-bourbon casks gives the whisky a unique
combination of deep aromas and complex flavors. This special maturation creates
a harmonious interplay that is further enriched by gentle smoky accents. The
result is a whisky that clearly stands out from other bottlings and delights
connoisseurs and novices alike with its unmistakable taste experience.
