In 1263, the head of the Mackenzie clan saved King Alexander III from an
attacking stag. In recognition of this, the king granted the Mackenzie clan the
right to bear the emblem of the twelve-pointed royal stag in its coat of arms.
When the Dalmore distillery was taken over by the clan's descendants in 1867,
this royal stag became the symbol of Dalmore whisky, which proudly adorns every
bottle today. The precious single malts are refined in exceptional casks, which
were handpicked by Master Distiller Richard Paterson.
The Dalmore distillery was founded in 1839 and is located on the Cromarty Firth
coast in the northern Highlands. Dalmore uses water from the River Alness, which
flows through the small town of the same name.
Dalmore The Quartet whisky is a marriage of four different finishes - ex-bourbon
cask, 30 year old Matusalem sherry, 30 year old Apostoles sherry and Bordeaux
Cabernet Sauvignon.
