The Macallan A Night On Earth is a single malt Scotch whisky that was first
released in 2021 by the Macallan distillery in Scotland. It is a tribute to the
Scottish New Year's Eve celebration, Hogmanay, and was bottled in collaboration
with the illustrator Erica Dorn.
This whisky is crafted using a selection of American and European oak sherry
casks and American ex-bourbon casks from The Macallan to preserve its rich,
sweet and bready character.
The layered gift box features Erica Dorn's bespoke abstract designs and the
colors express the story of New Year's Eve.
Red symbolizes the fire lit by the traditional Scottish first toast with coal,
as well as the luck, success, joy and vitality associated with this celebration.
The blue inside shows the night sky of Hogmanay (New Year's Eve) and the blue of
the Scottish national flag. A rich amber hue when the gift box is opened
symbolizes Scottish shortbread. This is a rich, sweet pastry that is enjoyed on
Hogmanay and is also found in the flavors of the whisky.
