The Tomintoul distillery, located in the Scottish Highlands in the Cairngorms
National Park and named after the nearby village of Tomintoul, opened its doors
in 1964 and is now owned by Angus Dundee Distillers.
At 370 meters above sea level, Tomintoul is the second highest distillery in
Scotland, surpassed only by Braeval Distillery, which was founded in 1973.
Although the majority of the 3.2 million liters of alcohol produced each year is
exported to the United States for blends, Tomintoul continues to bring special
single cask bottlings to the market.
The Tomintoul 15 Years Old with a Peaty Tang whisky is produced in
Ballindalloch, in the valley of the River Livet in Scotland's Speyside. Named
after the highest place in the Highlands, the Tomintoul distillery is
characterized by its exceptional location and tradition. This whisky matures for
15 years in oak casks, developing its unmistakable character.
