The Tullamore Distillery was founded in 1829 by Michael Molloy in Tullamore in
County Offaly, a grain-growing region. Later, the Tullamore DEW whiskey was
distilled in Midleton by Irish Distillers. Since 2010, the brand has belonged to
the Scottish distillery group William Grant & Sons, the owner of Glenfiddich.
Currently, the whiskey is produced at a distillery between the Ballard and
Clonminch townlands near Tullamore.
The Tullamore D.E.W. ROUGE 13 Years Old Single Malt Irish Whiskey matures for 13
years in bourbon and sherry casks. The whiskey then receives its finish in
ex-Pomerol barrels. Pomerol is a famous red wine from the Bordeaux region of
France.
