Cork, located on the southern coast of Ireland, is home to the picturesque town
of Skibbereen, which is crossed by the River Ilen. This region is known for its
scenic beauty and cultural significance, particularly in the tradition of
whiskey production. In 2007, three friends founded the West Cork Distillery in
Skibbereen. This small, independent distillery is characterized by the
production of high-quality whiskeys, which are made with great care and
craftsmanship.

From the very beginning, the founders focused on quality and tradition, combined
with an innovative approach. The West Cork Distillery uses crystal-clear spring
water and carefully selected grains. This commitment reflects the spirit of
innovation and craftsmanship that characterize the Irish whiskey industry.

The whiskey's journey began in first-fill ex-bourbon casks, where it matured for
four years before it underwent its real transformation when it was stored in
select Panamanian rum casks for the last six months of its maturation. As it was
triple distilled, the West Cork Small Batch Rum Finish Very Rare Expression
impressively shows how masterful Irish distilling can be.
