FRUIT-DRIVEN, JUICY WHITE WINE WITH WINTER MELON, GUAVA, PEAR AND PINEAPPLE
UNDERTONES.
Babylonstoren Chenin Blanc is a dry white wine from Simonsberg, South Africa.
It's 100% Chenin Blanc with 13.5% abv.Suitable for Vegetarians.
This summery single variety Chenin Blanc is made from grapes grown on the
foothills of Simonsberg Mountain, an area located between Franschhoek,
Stellenbosch and Paarl in the Western Cape. The grapes are softly pressed and
undergo cool fermentation to preserve crisp fruit aromas. The wine is then aged
for four months on its secondary lees, adding texture and body to the wine.
Something that's needed when you have such ripe fruit and a higher alcohol
level. The result is a very drinkable wine with intensely fruity aromas of guava
and tropical fruit. The nose entices you into a crisp, dry palate with notes of
pear, fresh melon, pineapple and whipped cream.
You'll like this if you like:Summer holidays, Perry cider or juicy white
wines.
Pairs beautifully with: Sal Godfrey's recipe for thisFiery Carrot and Ginger
Soup, three-cheese pizza, or try with poached salmon.
Cheese pairing:Triple cream Brie, Cornish Yarg or Swiss Gruyere.
