LIGHT RUBY RED WINE WITH RIPE CHERRIES AND A SMOOTH PALATE.
Ilocki Podrumi Kapistran Crni Selectis a dry, medium bodied red wine from The
Danube, Croatia. It's a blend of Frankovka and Cabernet Sauvignon with 12.0%
abv.Suitable for Vegetarians.
From one of Croatia's oldest cellars, Ilocki Podrumi, comes this quality red
wine cuvée of Frankovka (Blaufränkisch) and Cabernet Sauvignon. The vines are
located on the Croatian Danube, a protected appellation, some 200m above sea
level, mostly on plateaus facing North-west. Constant breezes from the Danube
assure good health condition of the grapes and therefore minimum treatment is
needed. Long, dry and hot summers give the wine a depth of concentration, while
the roots are deep and hold subterranean waters that ensure a lengthy ripening
season. The fruit is picked, pressed, fermented and then partly aged in inox
vats and oak barrel. The resulting wine is juicy, smooth and full of cherries,
raspberries and blackcurrants.
Pairs beautifully with: Smoked sausage, cured meats, potato goulash, tomato
pasta sauces, lasagne and fresh leaf salad, meatballs, game or seared tuna.
Cheese pairing:Parmesan.
