WHAT'S IN THE BOX?
2 * Château Les Vimières 'Le Tronquéra' Margaux 2009
92 Points Wine Enthusiast - This wine is a piece of history and when sold out - it will be wine money cannot buy ! The owner of Château Les Vimières, Jacques Boissenot, was central to the development of new winemaking techniques in Bordeaux before he sadly passed away in 2014. Jacques had his hand on pretty much every First Growth production since the 1960s and was voted Decanter magazine's Winemaker of the Decade in 2010. This Margaux from the outstanding 2009 vintage amply demonstrates how he led the way for quality winemaking over a 50 year career.
2 * Château Jean Faure Saint-Émilion Grand Cru 2018
95 Points Wine Spectator / 91 Points Robert Parker. One of Saint-Émilion's most prestigious Grand Cru's, located right next door to the famed Château Cheval Blanc. From the oldest surviving wine producing château in Saint-Émilion comes this incredible Grand Cru wine from a fabulous vintage. A sensationally moreish, fragrant and textured wine created by the renowned Olivier Decelle.
2 * Château Grand Tayac Margaux 2018
94 Points - International Wine Report. Situated on the same terroir as Chateaux Margaux and Palmer stands the impressive Chateau Grand Tayac. With the help of wine consultant Eric Boissenot, the grapes are sourced from a single parcel of vines with an age of over 50 years to produce this consistently high scoring and limited production Margaux. Château Grand Tayac is a blend of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 27% Merlot, 3% Petit Verdot and will continue to develop over the next few years to come.
2 * Château Les Landes de Cach Pauillac 2018
90 Points (18/20 - France de vin) - This 1.2-hectare vineyard in Pauillac stands next to the 5th growth grand cru classé's of Chateau Batailley, and across the road from Château Grand Puy Lacoste, on soil worthy of a classified growth. The yield here is around 32 hl/ha and the vineyard is planted in equal measure of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. The entire batch of their Pauillac parcels is aged in new French oak barrels under the label Château Les Landes de Cach.
2 * Château les Ormes Saint Julien 2014
St Julien is the commune in Bordeaux with the highest proportion of Classed Growths, and its superlative wine growing land make it a go to destination for high quality Bordeaux. Château les Ormes is made up of 2 principal parcels of vines. One touching the western border of Château Léoville Barton (in fact Anthony Barton sold this parcel to Chateau les Ormes in 1989) and the second further south and juxtaposed between Château Gruaud Larose, Saint Pierre and Beychevelle. The soils are identical to the other chateaux on the plateau of Beychevelle : beautiful gravel that favours the elegance of Saint Julien. It is no coincidence that 85% of the appellation is Cru Classé. Most of the chateaux that are not classified in this appellation simply didnt exist in 1855 at the time of the creation of the classification, although they are made up of plots of land that formerly belonged to these chateaux!
2 * Château Mille Roses Haut-Médoc 2017 - Organic
90 Point - Wine Enthusiast - 'A thousand Roses'. Named after his mothers love for roses, Owner David Faure has aimed to create aromatic, rich and smooth wines, just like roses. An intense and deep purple colour, the nose is fresh, carrying floral notes and light notes of vanilla, with a subtle hint of strawberries. The palate is very fresh, lively and reveals a medium to concentrated structure. Located in the Southern Médoc with prestigious Grand Crus Classé neighbours, this Château is 100% Organic and a real hidden gem!
