From the plot of Les Poiriers in the village of Chorey-Lès-Beaune, nestled between the hills of Savigny and Aloxe comes this wonderfully soft and round wine with supple, nicely integrated tannins. Lots of fresh red berry fruit, supported by 14 months aging in oak barrels, wines from Chorey never fail in producing light and supple Pinots with beautiful character.
About the Producer
Domaine Decelle & Fils was started in 2008 when two distinguished winemakers from other regions of France decided to pool their talents and produce high quality Burgundy wines. Olivier Decelle is the vigneron behind Mas Amiel in Roussillon, and he also revived Château Jean Faure in Saint-Émilion. Pierre-Jean Villa was part of a boutique Rhône negociant, and he is also a Rhone Valley vigneron. Now they have purchased and restored an historic 19th century cellar in Nuits-Saint-Georges along with about 20 acres of vineyards in various Burgundy locations. They also source grapes from Gevrey-Chambertin to Chassagne-Montrachet for their Domaine Decelle-Villa venture. The domaine makes more than a dozen wines, from a Grand Cru and Premier Crus to village and regional appellations.
Taste
Intense ruby red colour, this wine offers a flattering nose. With a supple and harmonious tannic structure, it is a wine to drink in her youth. We then discover a lot of roundness and beautiful aromas of fresh red fruits.
