A rare chance to savour the stunning Meursault Cuvee Charles Maxime 2021 from Meursault masters, Domaine Latour Giraud. 2021 was a lovely but hugely challenging vintage in Burgundy. The little wine that was made offers a delicious combination of freshness, elegance, and harmony. The Cuvee Charles Maxime is a wonderful example of how good 2021 white Burgundy can be.  Boasting generous quantities of citrus, almonds, lemon confit and just a hint of butter, its powerful, precise and palate-pleasing. Awarded 92-95 points by leading Burgundy expert Jasper Morris MW, the only problem with this wine is that there isnt enough of it.

About the Producer

Jean-Pierre Latour has 10 hectares under vine in Meursault. Wonderfully sited vineyards, low yields, brilliant winemaking and no fining or filtration, make this one of the most exciting domaines in the village at present.

Taste

On the nose citrus, lemon and almonds with a touch of green olive and dried hay followed by toasted almonds and lemon confit.
