White gold, the Domaine Masse Montagny Premier Cru 2023 has a sophisticated, classic white Burgundy nose of citrus, melon, pears, and crushed nuts. These themes continue onto the supple, broad palate where they are joined by tones of red apple, peach, and a gentle vanilla spice. The finish is clean and tangy, but a little honey softens it and adds yet another layer of flavour. Domaine Masse is a tiny, family-owned and run domaine based in the sleepy hamlet of Theurey which lies above the village of Givry. With origins dating back to 1595, Domaine Masse is part of the fabric of Burgundy. Since 2000 it has been in the talented hands of Fabrice Masse who has introduced modern sustainable viticultural methods alongside traditional winemaking techniques. Their 15 hectares of vines have been accredited with High Environmental Value and provide the fruit for a range of outstanding, yet very well-priced red and white Burgundies.
