Taste
Pale straw yellow colour and a fine and persistent bubbles. The nose opens with an intense fruity bouquet, enriched by sweet aromatic notes. On the palate it is fresh, harmonious and pleasantly savoury.
Bosco del Gaio, from the Lombard word Gahagi, or forbidden, reserved land, is a wood that lies half-way down the San Salvatore hill, facing south. It has always constituted an important resource for the local community, which used it for lumber, wild game, and luscious wild fruit.
About the Producer
The Collalto family can trace their ownership of vineyards in the region to a document dated 958 AD, when Berengarius II, King of Italy, leased the county of Lovadina to Count Rambaldo I, the founder of the Collalto family. They are thus one of the oldest winemaking enterprises in Italy.
