France - Burgundy

Sylvain Mosnier Chablis 2022

94 Points - Gilbert & Gaillard. The Chablis masters at Sylvain Mosnier took full advantage of the excellent 2022 vintage and produced wines that are full of freshness, ripeness, and complexity. Classically styled, their Chablis 2022 has great intensity and energy, with its ample fruit kept in check by the clean, balancing acidity. This is a delight now but it will develop over the next 3 years or so.

Albert Bichot Santenay Blanc 2019

90 Points - Wine Enthusiast. In the southernmost part of Burgundys Côte de Beaune, the 392 hectares (969 acres) of Santenays vines take root on the first slopes of the Mont de Sene hill. The name of this appellation refers to Roman times when the village was renowned for its thermal baths and its natural spring, "Santinae aquae", meaning "healing water" in Latin. Notes  of white flowers (acacia) and opens on lemon and candied pineapple. The palate is rich and mineral with a nice salinity, which brings freshness and energy. The aromas of elderberries and lily are completed by citrus fruits. Subtle notes of hazelnut and gingerbread assert the personality of this terroir wine.

Argentina

El Enemigo Semillon 2021

94 Points - Descorchados. The El Enemigo Semillon is a rare find, a great Argentinean Semillon. Plantings of Semillon in Argentina have plunged over the last half century, with just 578 hectares of the once 5,500 hectares remaining in production. The innovative and quality-obsessed team at El Enemigo have seen the potential of this noble variety and have plantings in their high-altitude, 70-year-old vineyard in Agrelo in the Mendoza sub-region of Lujan de Cuyo that are producing exceptional wines such as this.

New Zealand

Settlement Poplars Vineyard Chardonnay 2020

96 Points - New Zealand Wine Rater. A wonderful Burgundian style Chardonnay from a producer who carefully select fruit from Marlborough's top organic single vineyards to produce wines of great elegance and complexity. A polished, complex nose that leaps from the glass. Bursting with appealing grapefruit and peach aromas with complex notes of toasted sourdough, popcorn and white pepper lees influence. The most impressive thing about this wine is the poise, balance and restraint on the palate. It's tasty and concentrated but with a very fine texture and vivacious, saline acidity.

South Africa

Dornier Moordernaarskloof Chenin Blanc 2021

91 Points - Greg Sherwood MW. From a small plot planted in 1986 at 230 meters above sea level, the different soil types contribute to the complexity and many facets of this wine. The Moordernaarskloof (Murderers Gorge) Chenin Blanc has delicate scents of wild flowers and fruit, especially Cape Honeysuckle, white peaches, and pineapples, with an underlying minerality. The palate fully matches the nose with a creamy sensation and a texture that combines elegance and intensity, along with concentrated fruit flavours.

Hermanuspietersfontein Kat met die Houtbeen Sauvignon Blanc 2022

94 Points - Platters Guide. This rich and expressive Sauvignon Blanc is fermented and aged for 12 months in a combination of new (40%) and older oak barrels. It boasts a vibrant bouquet, with elegant notes of exotic fruits such as starfruit and dragon fruit, intertwined with tropical accents of passionfruit and ripe pineapple, and subtle hints of yellow peach. Herbal nuances and a touch of exotic spice add depth to its pronounced fruit profile. With bright acidity and a lingering finish, this wine offers exceptional aging potential of up to 7 years.
