A departure from the traditional Argentinian grape varieties, Vina Las Perdices are experimenting with other noble grape varieties to create exciting unique wines. This 100% Petit Verdot, a late ripening variety commonly used in Bordeaux is hand harvested and 70% spends 1 year in new oak to develop its complex aromas of vanilla and tobacco to compliment the abundant layers of rich, inky fruit.
Taste
Intense purple red colour. The nose presents violets and plum jam, complexed with aromas of vanilla and tobacco, contributed by ageing in wood. Good volume on the palate, fat, meaty, with firm tannins that ensure a long finish. Notes of black fruits, blackberries, spices and mentholated notes. Ideal to accompany red meats and various spicy dishes.
About the Producer
In the early 1950s, Don Juan Munoz-Lopez arrived from Andalucia to farm grapevines. To him work is always more important than recognition, and soil marks the rhythm of farm work. In 2004, his sons decided to build a winery to produce high-quality wines with a great fascination for innovation. In the April of that same year, they founded Las Perdices in the heart of their vineyard in Agrelo where they grew up and learned how to make wine.
