About the Producer
Rated well over 90 points a number of times by Robert Parker - Bodega Sierra Cantabria is located in San Vicente de la Sonsierra, a village with a great winemaking tradition in the heat of La Rioja. The winery belongs to the Eguren family, a family that has been making wine for five generations in La Rioja. The wines of Sierra Cantabria are wines in a modern Rioja style, leaving the oak in the background and making the fruit and the intensity stand out. Known to be supplying wines to the Spanish Royal Family, Sierra Cantabria is at the height of wine making in Spain.
Since 1870, a period spanning five generations, the family has been dedicated to the cultivation of vines and the production and ageing of the best wines of La Rioja. They have been able to pass down from father to son both knowledge and tradition yet, at the same time, adapting them to the new advances in technology and always maintaining their respect for the soil and the vine.
Taste
