London Sparkling 2016 - Blanc de Noirs: The One. The Only. The Cream of The Cream. The only vintage English sparkling wine fully made in London. Words can't describe the incrediblness of this wine. Only 800 bottles ever made and only 81 left (as at 4th June 2020). Suffolk grown Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier, pressed in a wooden basket press, fermented using wild yeasts in French oak, aged on lees in the bottle in the crypt of Christ Church Spitalfields (The tall, amazing Hawksmoor one) before being riddled and disgorged by hand. Only 5g/L added at dosage stage. Corked and caged by hand. This was a massive labour of love. The 2017/18/19 versions are still in bottle and will be for a while......

Marsha - Castelao Nat Fiz 2019 - A Naturally Fizzy style of sparkling wine (unlike Champagne, Prosecco, Cava and Cremant) which undergoes the first and only fermentation in the bottle. No added anything. No sulphur, no yeast, no fining, no filtration, no nothing. Just grapes. Fruity, off dry, unusal aromas of ripe banana. Get it while you can, due to how hard this wine was to make, we won't be making her again!

Sara - Essex Chardonnay 2019 - This is what England should be making more of. Premium, unusual, balanced acidity, structured, sessionable and soft oak. Nee Hungarian oak and old French oak barrel fermented and aged. Very moreish. Unfiltered and unfined like all....

Jai - Skin Contact Ortega 2019 - Gloucester grown, full ferment on skins, using only wild yeasts. Very aromatic. Textured and floral. A punchy skin contact wine, but very clean and approachable. Secondary French oak aged, but not oaky.

Josh - 2019 Sangiovese - Chianti but not. Softer and ligher and more aromatic. Puglian grown, aromatic, soft, approachable, fruity, gentley oaked London style of this Italian classico.

Vern - Merlot/Cabernet Sauvignon 2017 - Right bank Bordeaux in style via an organic (non-certified) vineyard in Albania. Yes, you read that right. The quailty of the grapes were unbelievable. Wild fermented and aged in New Chestnut, New French oak and ex-Bourbon casks this is a stunning, massive, strctured, big lad of a wine. Will drink well now and age for donkeys years. Oh Vern!

About the Winery
"Breaking The Rules. One Bottle At A Time"

Renegade London Wine is a cutting edge Urban Winery based in Bethnal Green, East London.

They do not grow grapes. They purchase small parcels of top quality grapes from around the UK and Europe, hand harvest them and race them back to London and make wine.

When they started making wine in 2016 they were copycat winemakers. They asked the growers how they should make wine with their grapes, and they did what they said. This was a mistake. They should't be copying other styles. London should be leading the charge on new wine styles, winemaking approaches and using both ancient and modern techniques.

So in 2017 they changed. Our wines change year on year and they rarely repeat a wine or style. They make around 12-14 wines a year with a total current production of around 28,000 bottles. This may sound like a lot but it's really tiny for a commercial winery. This is one of the main reasons our wines are not cheap. They try to keep them as affordable as possible but they know that they need to be worth the money.

Each label shows the eyes of a different person who lives in the UK. They may not be born in the UK, they may not have gone to school in the UK, but they're part of this country. They each form a key part of the rich tapestry that makes the UK special. As as urban winery based in London, many of the faces are Londoners. That's just how it's worked so far. Anyone can apply to be on the labels.

Crafted by world class young winemakers, Renegade makes modern, innovative, premium wines here in London. Why? No appellation rules, no tradition, no BS. Just great wine.

Top Quality. Modern Wine. Made With Love In London.
