Deep and intense ruby-red colour. The nose presents aromas of blackcurrants, blackberries and licorice with smooth, elegant cedar notes. The palate is very rich and generous yet fresh and vibrant at the same time. The wine has abundant fruit and firm tannins that lend structure and depth.

Carmen was founded in 1850 and it is the oldest winery in Chile. It was where Carmenere was rediscovered in 1994 in the Maipo valley where the winery is. The winery has had huge investment in recent years and is now an ultra modern winery with huge heritage. Emily Faulconer is the Head wine-maker and she is an incredible innovative wine-maker and is so proud of Carmen´s vineyard holdings that produces the best quality grapes from all the different valleys that Chile offers. The climate is very special in Chile with natural barriers protecting the unique terroir from the driest desert in the North, The Andes to the east, the Antartica to the south and the Pacific ocean to the west. It is a superb place to grow wine!
