Deep dark purple in colour with fragrant aromas of black cherries, ripe plums and violets complemented by complex notes of choclate, coffee, earthy spices and anise. It was where Carmenere was rediscovered in 1994 in the Maipo valley where the winery is. The winery has had huge investment in recent years and is now an ultra modern winery with huge heritage. Emily Faulconer is the Head wine-maker and she is an incredible innovative wine-maker and is so proud of Carmen´s vineyard holdings that produces the best quality grapes from all the different valleys that Chile offers. The climate is very special in Chile with natural barriers protecting the unique terroir from the driest desert in the North, The Andes to the east, the Antartica to the south and the Pacific ocean to the west. It is a superb place to grow wine!
