In 2002 Barone Pizzini saw the potential of the Marche region, to grow the indigenous Verdicchio grape and Pievalta was born. Today they operate over 43 hectares and produce exquisite organic, bio-dynamic and vegan wines.

Pievalta Perlugo Zero Spumante NV has been produced through a variation on the traditional method which truly captures the delicate flavour of the indigenous Verdicchio grape. The use of lees in the bottle ageing process adds a yeast bread-like flavour, but the secondary fermentation in inert stainless steel preserves the light, floral and fruity nature of the Verdicchio grape. A truly unique offering in the world of Italian sparkling wine and one which should not be missed. Zero dosage means no added sugar so the sparkling spumante wine is nice and dry.
