The Casa D'Aristi XTA Xtabentún Liquer is an internationally popular liqueur which is refined with honey and rum. Xtabentún was already produced by the Mayas and means "climbing plant growing on the rock" or "morning glow". The intoxicating feeling of Rivea corymbosa or Turbina corymbosaas, as the scientific name of the Xtabentún flower is, is caused by the psychotropic substances in the seed, which can lead to euphoria and drowsiness. This liqueur is an excellent aperitif and its aniseed flavour is a great contrast to the well-seasoned Yucatán cuisine. This is why Xtabentún is still so hotly loved in Mexico. The Casa D'Aristi distillery on the Yucatan peninsula in Mexico produces this liqueur with the highest quality standards.
