At Compass Box "Spice Tree" is a vatted Highland Malt full of spice aromas. The whiskies for the Spice Tree come only from distilleries in the Northern Highlands, mainly from the village of Brora. The first maturation takes place in a mix of first-fill and refill casks made of American oak. In the second maturation, heavily toasted French oak barrels are used and the strong toasting results in a distinctive taste profile. The second maturation lasts two years. All fillings of Compass Box are not cool-filtered and without colorants.Tasting notes:Colour: gold. Nose: cloves, cinnamon, nutmeg. Taste: Rich, intense, spicy, sweet, oak, vanilla.
