The brand Don Q has its name from the worldwide known novella "Don Quixote" by the author Miguel Cervantes. The Serralles family produces the rum according to old family tradition. For the production the sugar cane of the own plantations is used. The Gran Reserva Añejo XO is a blend of different rums that are matured between 9 and a maximum of 12 years. The maturation takes place in American white oak barrels. An important component of this rum is a 50 year old rum that ages in the Solera Reserva process. Through the long experience of the family, the Gran Añejo becomes a very exclusive rum. Tasting notes:Colour: Amber. Nose: Sweet, rich, notes of vanilla, cinnamon. Taste: Complex, sweet, notes of vanilla, caramel, honey. Finish: Long lasting. Preferred "on the rocks" or drunk neat.
