Jägermeister is a liqueur of 56 herbs. The recipe for the liqueur has been around since 1934, and Jägermeister is produced and bottled in Wolfenbüttel in Lower Saxony. The Jägermeister logo refers to the St. Hubertus legend and shows the head of a deer with a shining cross between the rungs of its antlers. The more complex aroma extraction takes place in five rather than four passes. An unconventional ageing process in small and large oak barrels is used.
