This rum takes its name from a sailing ship called 'Kirk and Sweeney' which was used in the early days of prohibition as a rum smuggling ship between the Caribbean and the Northeast of the USA. On the bottle is an imprint of the ships' usual smuggling routes. The rum is made from molasses and aged for 12 years in American oak barrels.Tasting notes:Colour: Amber. Nose: sweetish, toffee, cane sugar, butterscotch, oak wood, vanilla, hints of tobacco. Taste: Spicy, fruity, oak wood, dried fruit, peaches. Finish: Long lasting. The rum is recommended pure, or as a mixed drink for an exclusive cocktail.
