The Benkovac winery was built in 1956-1957, following the models of existing wineries in the south of France. Vinarija Benkovac became really famous in 2005, when new vineyards were planted in Korlat near Benkovac on an area of 103 hectares with 530,000 vines. The Korlat Supreme Cuvée is a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah.
