In 1888, when the Imperial British Africa Company came to Kenya to take over the administration of British East Africa until 1895, the history of the Mombasa Club London Dry Gin also began. At that time, exclusive clubs were in vogue and one such club opened in Mombasa, which is now Kenya's second largest city.
