Maturation takes place in new bourbon casks made of American oak. For the further 12 months of aging, the barrels are shipped to Shetland and brought near The Muckle Flugga lighthouse. There they are exposed to just about all weather conditions; storms, salty sea breezes, sun. This creates this unique whiskey with its full-bodiedness and fruitiness - an untouched essence.
