In 1973 the Nonino family produced the first Grappa Monovitigno from marc of Picolit grapes. Marc is obtained by distilling the solid components of a grape. The family celebrated great success with the brandy and soon other distillers worldwide became aware of the new product. Grappa is not only the oldest eau-de-vie in Northern Italy but also the most traditional. The grappas of the Nonino family reflect the history and long tradition of the company. The marc obtained from the grapes of the Friulian vineyards is stored in stainless steel tanks for 6-12 months. Friuli is a well-known wine-growing region in Italy and lies between Austria, Slovenia and the Veneto plain. The capital is Trieste.Tasting notes:Color: Clear. Nose: Licorice and bread crust. Taste: Elegant, fresh, crystal clear. Finish: Long lasting. The Nonino Grappa 43° was specially designed for the Nonino Tonic cocktail.
