Panama is ideal for the production of rum with the ideal conditions for growth, distillation and maturation of the sugar cane.
This bottling is inspired by the grizzly legend; in which the British admiral Nelson was killed by a French sniper in the battle of Trafalgar in 1805.
His high status required his body to be returned to England - so they put his body in a barrel of alcohol to preserve his body.
Since he was part of a crew on a British warship, it is assumed that the barrel was filled with rum.
But when the barrel returned to England, it contained only Nelson's body and no more alcohol.
Legend has it that the sailors drilled holes in the barrel on their return journey and drank the rum through straws - now known as "Tapping the Admiral".
This Panam Rum matures for five years in oak barrels and is dedicated to Lord Admiral Nelson.Tasting notes:Colour: gold.
Nose: molasses, vanilla.
Flavour: buttery, notes of vanilla, honey.
Finish: Long lasting.
