Ricard Pastis is an aniseed spirit from the house of Pernod. "Pastis" means "mixture" and describes this mixture of anise, sugar, fennel, liquorice roots, herbs etc. probably perfectly. The addition of water creates the Louche-effect; the liqueur turns milky white, which is due to the insoluble essential oils in the liqueur.Tasting notes:Color: Clear. Nose: Sweetish, aniseed, spices. Taste: Sweet, spicy, aniseed. Finish: Long lasting. Mixing ratio: 1:5 Best enjoyed well chilled, pure or with a shot of water! Do not store in the refrigerator! When using ice cubes, an oil film is formed on the surface, so we would advise against this.
