Riga Black Balsam is stored in oak barrels, in which its characteristic strength and slightly bittersweet taste can develop. The unique recipe was created in Riga in the 18th century by the pharmacist Abraham Kunz.Tasting notes:Riga Black Balsam, the special tasty herbal bitter with its warming 45% vol. and spicy depth of taste, is a real Latvian speciality. It is a harmonious blend of extracts of herbs, flowers, juices, roots and berries. Among other things, there are lime blossoms, birch buds, valerian roots, raspberries, blueberries and ginger, as well as notes of nutmeg and black peppercorns.
