Charanda is a Mexican spirit protected by a "Denominacion de Origen" (D.O.) and produced in the state of Michoacán, in west-central Mexico. The Pacheco family has been producing high-quality Charanda for more than 111 years at Casa Tarasco in the town of Uruapan, in the state of Michoacán, Mexico. Sugar cane grown at more than 1,270 meters above sea level is used for this Charanda. Sol Terasco is produced using traditional production methods: It is distilled in a copper still before aging for at least 8 years in old bourbon and sherry barrels, all without the addition of sugar. Tasting notes:Color: mahogany. Nose: Vanilla, toasted oak, nuts. Taste: Dry, explosive, pure notes of toasted oak, vanilla, spices. Finish: Long lasting, warm. Charanda can be enjoyed like any other rum: neat, on the rocks or even as an ingredient for a cocktail.
