Brigantia is the first single malt whisky from Lake Constance. The name "Brigantia" was chosen in reference to the Roman scholar Pliny the Elder, who mentioned the upper part of Lake Constance (today's Upper Lake) in his records as Lacus Brigantius in about 70 AD. After careful distillation on the Steinhauser distillery plant of 1890, this Brigantia bottling receives a 5 year long maturation in whisky casks from the island of Islay and gives this Brigantia earthy-smoky notes with a touch of Islay flair.
