Summerhall Distillery is located in the heart of Edinburgh and was the first exclusive gin distillery established there for over 150 years. The distillery became known for the Pickerings Gin, today the distillery continues to produce gin but also whiskey.
Five stacked oak barrels particularly stood out to the team of the distillery because the appearance of the barrels reminded of a chicken coop and so these barrels were used for the distillation of this blended Scotch whiskey.
Hence the name: The Broody Hen.
Tasting notes:Color: Amber.
Nose: Light, honey, butterscotch.
Taste: Rich, fresh, caramel, vanilla, honey.
Finish: Long-lasting, cinnamon.
