The wine produces big aromas of chocolate, blueberry and rich Aussie black licorice, followed up by rich vanilla bean. Located near the summit of Mount Veeder above both the fog and frost lines, the Veeder Summit vineyard takes advantage of the cooling influences of the San Francisco Bay and cool afternoon breezes result cooler daytime temperatures than the valley floor with warmer nights as the cooler air sinks to the lower elevations. Due to the unique microclimates, the vineyard is well suited for early ripening varietals.
