Founded in 1680 by Jean Baptiste Braneyre, who gave his name to the estate which was later changed to Baraaire. It was originally part of Chateau Beychevelle until part had to be sold off to pay debts of the owner. The 1970 vintage was great success in Bordeaux and the wines can still give pleasure today.
