Now for something completely different a sparkling red Beaujolais!
Domaine Matray situated in the Beaujolais Cru of Julienas is run by Lilian Matray, his wife Sandrine and his daughter Célia. Whilst producing classic Beaujolais from Julienas, Saint-Amour, Chénas and Moulin â Vent they also produce this immensely fun sparkling red Beaujolais! Don’t turn up your nose straight away, although I must admit I’m not normally a fan of sparkling reds but this is dry with vibrant raspberry and plum fruit on the nose and palate and really attractive. Perfect as an aperitif or with chocolate desserts.
Style: medium bodied, aromatic, brut, dry, fruity
