The Dopff family have been making wine in Riquewihr since the 1574, back in 1913 Julien Dopff was the first to advocate and use the Flute d’Alsace, the tall green bottle, now used throughout the region since1972. Pierre Dopff and his two sons are the current incumbents and now own 70 hectare of vines, one of the biggest estates in the region. Their Pinot Gris is lovely, aromatic with ripe pear fruit and hints of ginger finishing dry with quite some length too; great with a wide range of foods.
