The Racines comes from their oldest vines averaging 100 years old, fermented in small lots and aged in old oak cuves to emphasize the fruit
Domaine les Pallières is one of the best estates in Gigondas, owned since 1988 by Daniel and Fredéric Brunier of Vieux Télégraphe. Its old, north west facing vineyards lie in a bowl between 200-400m up surrounded by 100 acres of garrigues. Their Racines comes from their oldest vines averaging 100 years old, fermented in small lots and aged in old oak cuves to emphasize the fruit. An enticing nose of ripe black cherries and garrigues followed by a substantial rounded palate of spiced dark fruits and berries with burnt herbs and rounded tannins; this is drinking well now but will keep really well too.
Style: medium-full bodied, powerful, spicy, warm
Maturity: drinking now but will keep very well
