Le Marne is made from Barbera, Nebbiolo and Dolcetto, it's rare to have a wine that really sings of Piedmont at this price.
This tremendous value Piedmontese red comes from steep organically farmed vineyards planted on marl soils, marne in Italian. Hailing from Loazzolo, 15 miles east of Barolo,the smallest DOC in Piedmonte. Le Marne is made from classic Piedmontese varietals Barbera, Nebbiolo, Dolcetto and a drop of Pinot Noir! Fresh dark cherry fruit and herbal notes to the nose and palate with perky acidity and soft tannins, drinking well on its own or with a good range of dishes and at a very reasonable price too.
