Mas Mudigliza was started in 2005 by Dimitri and Muriel Glipa situated near the village of St-Paul-de-Fenouillet high up in the Côtes de Roussillon. Dimitri had previously been Maitre de Chais at a grand Cru Chateau in Bordeaux but fell in love with the wines here. They now farm 12 hectares of vines here and in nearby Maury.
The Carminé, made from old vines 65% Grenache, 30% Syrah and 5% Carignan, is powerful offering dark red fruits with spices, tobacco and liqourice notes.
St-Paul-de-Fenouillet is by the way the start of one of the most stunning and heart in mouth car/bike journeys in France; an all but single-track road that clings to the edge of the Gorge de Galamus. Not for the weak hearted!
